Graduate Students

I joined Dr. Gangloff's lab as a graduate student in 2020, after volunteering for several semesters as a graduate student assisting in a variety of freshwater research projects. My thesis work involves constructing species distribution models for the Carolina creekshell (Villosa vaughaniana), a rare species of freshwater mussel endemic to the Carolina Slate belt. These SDMs will be used to guide field surveys as I assess the status of current populations and seek to discover new populations. I have a passion for spatial modelling and environmental conservation and hope to continue this type of work professionally after completing my thesis.
