Hannah Woodburn
Graduate Students

Hannah is an App State alum, and returned for the biology master's degree program. Through her courses at App State, she was able to cultivate her love for the environment and specifically, water quality. She has experience managing multiple citizen science water quality programs through her work with Watauga Riverkeeper and the non-profit, MountainTrue. Her masters research is focused on using long term water chemistry data to determine changes in Western North Carolina (WNC) streams. The water quality will be paired with species distribution data to understand the implications of changes in water chemistry for sensitive species in WNC. This project will serve as an opportunity to look at the impacts of climate change and urbanization on WNC streams and rivers over time.
